Foundation only
This module prepares you to enter an approved EMT course. It does not provide certification, course credit, local protocols, or authorization to perform EMS skills.
Build student habits before the course begins
The best preparation is a dependable learning system—not trying to memorize the entire EMT curriculum early.
Read actively
Preview headings and objectives, then close the material and explain the main idea from memory.
Practice retrieval
Use short quizzes, flashcards, drawing, and teaching aloud instead of rereading the same paragraph repeatedly.
Use an error log
Write what you missed, why you missed it, and what clue should lead you to the better answer next time.
Communicate professionally
Practice introductions, respectful questions, listening, closed-loop communication, and accepting correction.
Protect your schedule
Frequent 20-minute sessions are usually more useful than waiting for one exhausted all-night study session.
Ask for help early
Use instructors, tutoring, skills lab, classmates, and approved resources before a small gap becomes a major problem.
