Why EMSCodeSim exists
EMSCodeSim was created to give future and current EMS professionals one free resource they can use from first interest in the career through school, field practice, recertification, career growth, wellness, and retirement planning.
The site is intentionally different from an approved EMT program or a commercial certification-preparation course. It helps visitors understand the path, enter training better prepared, and practice individual concepts without claiming to replace instructors, clinical education, local protocols, or certification requirements.
About David Gallaher
David Gallaher has more than two decades of paramedic experience and more than 17 years in the fire service. His teaching work includes EMT education, CPR, ACLS, PALS, skills testing, and practical examination support.
That background shapes the site’s emphasis on simple explanations, realistic expectations, repeated practice, patient safety, and clear reminders to confirm current state, program, employer, and medical-direction requirements.

Stay in scope
Readiness pages prepare students for approved education. Simulator pages reinforce concepts. Neither is presented as certification or authorization to practice.
Prefer official sources
Certification, licensing, financial aid, workforce, and state-requirement guidance should link to the responsible government, accrediting, or certifying organization whenever possible.
Show review dates
Major guides include a review date so visitors know when requirements, fees, or external links should be verified again.
Correct openly
Substantive errors are corrected when identified. Visitors are encouraged to report broken links, outdated requirements, or unclear clinical wording.
