What should I bring?
Bring your required uniform and identification, a small notebook, two pens, water, food, snacks, charger, and any school-required equipment. A stethoscope and shears may be useful if required, but the agency may have equipment available.
What should I ask at the beginning?
Introduce yourself and ask: “What would you like me to do today?” Clarify what you may perform, what requires direct supervision, where to sit, and how the crew prefers students to assist with checks and cleanup.
How do I participate without getting in the way?
Stand where you can observe without blocking movement. Volunteer for vital signs, equipment retrieval, carrying, cleanup, and patient interviews only when invited. Communicate before touching the patient or equipment.
